Move over Mariah Carey, a new Christmas Album has been jingling it's way into our speakers and our hearts!
On Christmas Eve, Jersey Club God, Unicorn aka Killa Kherk Cobain (aka one of the hardest working people I know) and DJ 809 came together to create a Christmas Album, "X-mas in Jersey". This album has 7 tracks that sample the Christmas Classics we all grew up on -with a Jersey Club/ Drill twist.
Unicorn's inspiration came from listening to the lyrics of old Christmas songs and realizing the concepts they were singing about was actually profound -which inspired him to remix them into versions our generation and culture could all relate to.
This is the FIRST ever Jersey Club/ Drill Xmas Album! What I find that makes this a remarkable Winter Wonder is that this album launch was recorded, produced, and marketed in a mere EIGHT hours! Despite the expedient execution the creativity was not compromised at all.
It was challenging to narrow down on my favorite songs because they all are great. The Branding Blogger's favorite "X-Mas in Jersey" tracks:

Uniiqu3 came onto the track no-holds-barred. Instead, the bars she delivered helps make this a relevant, fun, and catchy hit to dance to.

"Lean In My Eggnog"
Unicorn reminds us that not only does he know how to make a hit, he also knows how to dress. With witty bars where he in a casual fashion, fashionably flexes his high fashion outfit choices "just to sit in the living room" on Christmas Day.

I've been promoting "Cocktails for the Culture" Coquito during the holidays & have been using the the Classic version to this song to promote it online. Now that there is a Feliz (Newark) Navidad version, all of my Coquito Promo will have this version paying in the background instead. The beat is addicting. I love Primo's contribution. This collab was very original and I see this record going viral.
5 Qualities that made X-Mas in Jersey's Album Launch a Christmas Miracle:
1. Being Able to Handle Rejection
Being that it was such a spontaneous feat, almost every producer Unicorn initially contacted for beats for the album were skeptical about working on something so short notice, didn't quite see his vision and declined. -All except for DJ 809.
2. Communication
DJ 809 was not even in Jersey during this entire project! He was out of the state for the holidays which made communication challenging. It was made possible by DMs
3. Teamwork
Unicorn is writing simultaneously as 809 is producing and formatting. Uniiqu3, Primo 809, K-Shiiz, and others all rose to the occasion. They got together in the studio wrote their verses and recorded it in one take -no do-overs.
As they were recording, Cliquot mixed what was done.
4. Attitude
Despite the pressure everyone who contributed were enthusiastic and believed in the vision which made them rise to the occasion with precision.
5. Multi-tasking
Once all 7 records were made, Unicorn played the album in his car. While checking the sound quality, he made posted a request for a graphic designer who could make the cover art. Super star rapper, Samad Savage accepted the challenge and made his cover art in 2 hours!

Although time was a constraint the team behind this creative project had to to be proactive, expedient, and able to work well under pressure to be able to execute a quality production.
